T-shirt design for You You Sandwich works in Shakujii, Tokyo.
Ayako Kato of Mou Mou Sandwich Works has been making delicious sandwiches far beyond the imagination. She aims to create meals that satisfy everyone's stomach with lots and lots of vegetables. If you choose good ingredients and use many of them, the cost will inevitably increase. So, she decided to make everything herself. Using her experience from her French apprenticeship, Ayako prepares pastrami beef, bacon, smoked salmon, carrot rapé, coleslaw, and sauces, everything except the bread.
When Ayako asked me to design a T-shirt for her shop, I wanted the graphics to reflect the thought and care that goes into her cooking and the surprise of the flavors. So, I decided to make a pastrami beef sandwich out of vintage beads and print it on a T-shirt.

Mou mou Sandwich worksの加藤綾子さんは、想像を遥かに超えてくるような サンドイッチを作る。彼女が目指すのは、誰もがお腹がいっぱいになって、野菜もたっぷりとれる満足感のあるもの。ただ、いい具材を選んでたくさん使えばどうしても原価が上がる。ならばぜんぶ自分で作ろう！と思い、パストラミビーフも、ベーコンも、スモークサーモンも、キャロットラペもコールスローも、ソースも、パン以外のすべて具材を自ら仕込む。
綾子さんからショップTシャツのデザインを依頼されたとき、彼女の料理に対する思いや手間、そしてその味の驚きをグラフィックに反映させたいと思った。そうして、ヴィンテージのビーズでパストラミビーフ・サンドウィッチを作り、それをプリントしてTシャツを作ることにしました。
